The US is one of the last places to not allow transmitting electronics in-flight. (And only recently the FAA is coming under pressure by the airlines themselves so they can turn a higher profit withthese additional systems) But it has been happening for awhile now with the other authorities, ie- EASA, CAAS, so on.
Still, as with many of thesesystems, communities of die-hard gamers have found refuge on the web with other like-minded individuals, devoted to breathing some new life into their late, lamented handhelds.
