abstract:William Paxton Bishop (July 16, 1918 - October 3, 1959) was an American television and movie actor from Oak Park, Illinois. He was best known for his role as Steve Connors on the 1950s NBC comedy series It's a Great Life and for his roles in films including Harriet Craig, The Killer That Stalked New York and in numerous B-Movies and westerns such as The Tougher They Come, Gun Belt, The Basketball Fix, Cripple Creek and Wyoming Renegades.
The 70m (230ft) long tapestry was commissioned by William the Conqueror's half-brother, Bishop Odo of Bayeux, depicting the events surrounding the Norman Conquest, and culminating in the Battle of Hastings.
The expedition started on Thursday morning after the Bishop of Hull anointed the marchers with water from the font where William Wilberforce, who was elected as MP for the city in 1780, was baptised.
