Mr. Kaminski is one of only two living cinematographers to have won Oscars for both black-and-white and color movies (the 91-year-old Haskell Wexler is the other), and he appreciates each mode for its relative merits.
The 24 rooms, 20 of which are spread out in cottages near the lodge, also aim to soothe, not dazzle--beige and white color schemes with rattan chairs and black iron tractor seats on the wall as decoration--and they're very appealing, even if they take the sheep motif a bit far (sheep pillows and photos, metal sheep on the rim of the deep soaking tub).
