I lunged forward and shoved Sarah into the wall. Instantly she fought me off and threw me from her. I fell to my feet and by the time I had gathered myself back up she was running towards the door. And then with the blink of an eye, Luke had grabbed his cricket bat and swung it with one hard fast swing into the back of Sarah's head. She fell to the floor. Her body was limp and still as it laid in a bundle on the floor of our sitting room. My feet drifted to her side where Luke had dropped his bat. He stood still, staring down at her. Neither of us spoke for a moment. We just stared. She was face down and where Luke had struck in the back of the head was bleeding. There was blood on the carpet and the pool of blood kept getting bigger.
