The demands of the jobs at the main Eurostar terminal at London Waterloo and Ashford were different, Eurostar's public relations manager Lesley Retallack told BBC News Online.
Eurostar is switching its terminal from Waterloo station to St Pancras and will be offering quicker journey times on services from London to Paris and Brussels.
Compared with the impressive modernity of the facilities at Waterloo, the balconied holding areas above the domestic concourse that serve Eurostar seem distinctly tacked-on.
