The training provided the participants with the overview of the grid network, the architecture of the gLite middleware, an introduction to job submission, datamanagement and grid workflows, the concept of virtual organizations and the virtual organisation management system, as well as practical exercises on the use of gLite on the GILDA testbed.
By reducing the data footprint, virtualizing the reuse and storage of the data and centralizing the management of the data set, Big Data is ultimately transformed into small data and managed like virtualdata.
