Chancellor Merkel's spokesman UlrichWilhelm said over the weekend that Germany might take legal action, depending on its assessment of the allegations against Goldman.
Government spokesman UlrichWilhelm said Berlin regretted the decision, adding that it wanted GM to repay 1.5bn euros in bridge financing extended by German banks.
According to Merkel's right-hand man, UlrichWilhelm, Merkel used the meetings to promote the research and high-tech skills in Bavaria as on par with Silicon Valley, in addition to showcasing other potential markets in Germany.
