The southern African python is the largest snake in Africa,weighing up to55kg and exceeding 5m in length. It is a stout,solid snake,with a large triangular head, on the crown of which is a dark spearhead mark. The python loves water,swimming or lying in it to rest or to hunt.It also enjoys basking in the sun after feeding or when sloughing.
