abstract:Terry Adams (born August 14, 1948) is an American pianist/composer and a founding member of the musical group NRBQ (New Rhythm and Blues Quintet/Quartet), known for decades of extensive touring, energetic and humorous live shows, and wide-ranging musical repertoire, including rock, blues, country, pop, and jazz. NRBQ ceased performing in 2004, leading Adams to form the Terry Adams Rock and Roll Quartet in 2007.
The firm's bosses include Tim Eggar, who as Britain's energy minister in the mid-1990s got to know politicians in the region, and TerryAdams, a well-connnected oilman who used to run Azerbaijan's biggest foreign oil consortium.
Named for the iconic British actress and credited here to Carla Bley and TerryAdams (of NRBQ), it succeeds with an elegiac recurring motif, overtones of folk and the blues, rapturous glissandos, and an expert grasp of volume dynamics.
