abstract:Ternhill is a village in Shropshire, England, notable for its Royal Air Force training airfield ("Clive Barracks"/RAF Ternhill) which was the site of a bombing by the Provisional IRA on 20 February 1989 in which one person was injured. Today the station is named after Clive of India and the River Tern which begins just south of the settlement.
When the Home Service was disbanded he decided to transfer to 1st Battalion, The Royal Irish Regiment and he joined them at TernHill, near Market Drayton in Shropshire, in April 2007.
