Sylloge
-
abstract:
A sylloge (plural syllogae) is a collection of inscriptions written down by a traveller in Lombard Italy during the sixth through eighth centuries. Generally written by Anglo-Saxons, the syllogae form an important record of what was left of ancient Rome during the Lombard period, and demonstrate that inscriptions were plentiful along the via Flaminia and in Rome.
