Staffunions are vehemently opposed to any such move, and are pushing the Labour party to rule out privatisation in its next general election manifesto.
Mr Allister said the minister had told the house that the merger had the support of two staffunions which had, in fact, objected to the proposed changes in their responses to a consultation paper.
