"The physical environment of the emergency room is famous for lack of privacy, for loud, confusing sounds and for very rapid and changing staffinteraction, " says Dr. Thomas, a professor at the Erickson School at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
The design seeks to encourage interaction among staff, foster connections with the community and provide a space to attract employment in the highly competitive tech market, which is growing at a faster pace than overall employment.
