They ran into his suite, scurrying the maids out and he shut the door behind them. He turned to Saph, startled at her tearstained face and pleading eyes. She looked so vulnerable, so hopeless, every angered feeling he had immediately disappeared. He dropped her arm, looking down at her stitches and scars from earlier in the week. He remembered sitting in the clearing, beside her, telling her exactly how he felt, without the watch of the world, without people examining his every movement. That, for him, was probably one of the only times he felt free to say anything, and know she'd be the only one to hear his words.
