Regulators and economists scrutinizing the growing costs of health care have targeted a range of related activities by doctors, known as self-referrals.
The company's hired Tallahassee lobbyist, James Eaton, takes credit for getting Florida's regulations banning self-referrals passed in 1992, six months before the federal government approved a similar bill.
