By the time they reached the foyer, seemingly hours later, Cecily felt as if she had been holding her breath for ages. Her head buzzed and her face felt as if it was on fire. She prayed no one was looking at her anymore, but she didn't dare raise her eyes to find out. The cool summer breeze outside helped calm her nerves. The sky had suddenly clouded over and now a single raindrop kissed her cheek. She felt herself hurled back into reality outside the confines of that dream-like state she had remained in for so long.
