The program is sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology and many young talented scientists who come from collaborating countries, such as Pakistan, are given opportunities to work in China.
Taking the opportunity of the occasion, the Federal Minister ofScienceandTechnology, Mir Changez Khan Jamali strongly recommended increasing the budget ofMinistryofScienceandTechnology (MoST) from 0.6% to 1% of GDP by year 2015, further taking it up to 2% by 2020.
The Forum is organised by ICSU, in partnership with UNESCO, the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), the International Social Science Council (ISSC), the Brazilian MinistryofScience, Technologyand Innovation and the Brazilian Academy of Sciences.
He joined as Assistant Scientific Adviser in the Human Resource Development Programme of the MinistryofScienceandTechnology in the Government of Pakistan in 1985.
