Fierce, like me. I line my eyes with my black liquid eyeliner. I look like a cat, feline and graceful. I put lip gloss on and I'm ready to go. I feel queasy like something awful is going to happen. I grab my backpack and run into the bedroom. He's not there. Okay. I go into the kitchen. He's not there either. I grab a powerbar before I head into the office. He's there. I lean against the doorframe. What is he doing? I watch him, taking in his every movement. Mentally filing his long lean muscles, the way he does things without thinking. He leans over the computer, quickly typing something.
