The idea, Morin says, is that people do not want to pushbuttons all the time to check-in and may feel comfortable with their close friends and family knowing where they are.
"We had a big, stately old radio with green dials and lots of pushbuttons, and if she were alive I am sure she would be excited to see all the equipment we use now to produce radio".
"We might as well bring back the ice and the elevator operators, " he added, referring to two symbols of the old days: daily deliveries of ice to every congressional office, and automated elevators so lawmakers wouldn't have to pushbuttons.
