Then I recalled memories of the hundreds of thousands of people who were caught in the tsunami near Sri Lanka and Thailand four years ago and my mind didn't allow me to lay still for very long. I awakened Floyd and explained the situation. The telephone started to ring time after time after time. People cared enough to check upon us and invite us to spend time in their homes. That was heartening and I give so many thanks to each person who phoned. We got up, had a good breakfast, quickly packed one large suitcase and our overnight bags, put everything in the house in drawers or cupboards, pulled electric plugs, loaded our car and headed to safety.
