He closed his eyes, focusing on another animal. The fur dissipated from his skin, becoming scaly. The sharp nails retracted into his paws, which started blending into his body. His body became long and he could feel his bones disappearing, replaced with pure muscle. His fierce wide eyes suddenly slitted, and he felt another, thinner eyelid closing upwards. He couldn't see well through the eyelids, so he hissed, sticking his tongue out. Through his tongue, he felt the vibrations of the net and found the gaps in it. He pushed his head through the gap, slithering his body through it, then fell to the floor. He thumped down hard, but came out unhurt. He hissed out a sigh, then suddenly became rigid as he felt other vibrations around him. Through his eyes, he hazily saw three figures standing above him. He hissed again then jumped at the nearest man, sinking his fangs deep into his shoulder. He then wrapped his body around the man's neck, tightening his muscles, squeezing the breath out of him. Before the man could pass out, either by the venom or the suffocation, Shadow felt someone cut into his skull, some substance now flowing through his bloodstream, paralyzing his muscles.. He immediately relinquished his hold on both the man's neck and shoulder, plummeting to the ground. Shadow could only watch helplessly as one of the other men walked over to him and slung his body over his shoulder. No matter how much he wanted to bite the man, his body simply would not respond.
