abstract:Pedro Serrano is a New York Police Department officer who testified against the department in Floyd v. City of New York, a lawsuit brought by the Center for Constitutional Rights over the department’s stop-and-frisk policies.
Officer PedroSerrano, 43 years old, said after he contacted the NYPD's Internal Affairs Bureau to complain, stickers of "rodents" appeared on his locker.
One of the officers, PedroSerrano, said a supervisor told him that 50% of his yearly evaluation was based on whether he met the arrest, ticket and stop-and-frisk numbers.
Officer PedroSerrano said that over the years many supervisors in the 40th Precinct told him and other officers in the Bronx station house they must make one arrest and write 20 summonses per month.
