In this work, pitch-based activated carbon fibers (PACF) were prepared from pitch-based carbon fiber (PCF) through oxidation, carbonization and activation.

The results show that the adsorption capacity and adsorption speed of PACF are higher than that of AC because of its high specific surface area and extensively micropore structure.
