An investment fund is any fund that manages portfolios of money. There are basically two types of investment funds, namely, open-ended mutual funds, which are also known as unit trusts, and closed-ended listed funds, which is also known as investment trust company. Both types of funds centralize the money and diversify the portfolio of the investors. Open ended funds sell shares top the public and each share represents the allocating the ownership of the underlying assets of the funds according to the ratio. Fund managers may increase or decrease the total amount of stocks according to the public's needs. As for the close-ended fund, the number of stocks issued is fixed. Therefore if the demands increase for fund investment, the price of existing shares will rise.
