He is also charged with perverting the course of justice between 26 March 1986 and 7 July 1987, in relation to diaries relating to September 1986, he failed to reveal the existence of his main officediary: provided Angela Peppiatt with a blank diary which he instructed her with details to write in the diary.
Despite an April directive from the White House counsel's office to search for and turn over any materials pertinent to the subpoena, including any involving "coffees, " the counsel's office was unaware of the diary notes of Janis Kearney, special assistant to the president and records manager, concerning presidential activities.
