abstract:The Morgenthau Plan, proposed by United States Secretary of the Treasury Henry Morgenthau, Jr., advocated that the Allied occupation of Germany following World War II include measures to eliminate Germany's ability to wage war and to destroy enough of its industrial capacity to reduce Germany to a mainly agricultural state.
