abstract:Montferrat (in Piemontèis, Monfrà; in Italian, Monferrato; in Latin, Montisferrati) is part of the region of Piedmont in Northern Italy. It comprises roughly (and its extent has varied over time) the modern provinces of Alessandria and Asti.
