Autodesk might have made a name for itself with the CAD software used by architects and engineers to design and model everything from buildings to machines, but the San Francisco-based company has also had a hand in helping bring many Hollywood blockbusters to the big screen.
Renzo Piano, a celebrated museum architect, is already on his third model, a wooden structure consisting of 14 interconnecting buildings, painted red with glass roofs pointing to the north.
In the ensuing three years, the HOPI program counseled more than 4, 000 people, prevented 1, 300 foreclosures, and reclaimed 300 buildings.2 HOPI has also been a model for foreclosure prevention programs now operating around the country, including in Baltimore and Atlanta and in Ohio.
