abstract:The Millennium Gallery is an art gallery and museum in the centre of Sheffield, England. Opened in April 2001 as part of Sheffield's Heart of the City project, it is located in the city centre close to the mainline station, the Central Library and Graves Art Gallery, Sheffield Hallam University, and Sheffield Theatres.
As a result of lottery lolly the National Portrait Gallery, the Museum of Scotland, the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, the Dulwich Picture Gallery, the Wallace Collection and many others have had a makeover, bringing them up to modern standards in terms of access, educational facilities, exhibition space and more.
Millennium Park is an attractive landscaped complex, comprising fountains, ponds, little bridges, a theatre, a gallery and, for kids, the wonderful Palace of Wonders.
Visitors can now walk from the Millennium wheel at Westminster Bridge past the concert halls and theatres of the South Bank and continue down to the gallery.
