abstract:Milesians are a people figuring in Irish mythology. The descendants of Míl Espáine, which is the Irish form of the Latin Miles Hispaniae, "Soldier of Hispania", are the final wave of invaders of Ireland in Irish mythology.
The trade routes of the Milesians also took them to Mesopotamia, where they probably acquired the knowledge of astronomy they needed for celestial navigation and timekeeping.
