A three-dimensional, time-dependent, and self-consistent fluid model is developed to simulate the helium plasma in a cylindrical microhollow cathode (MHCD) with reasonable boundary conditions. The particle density, electric potential, electron energy, and the distribution of the electric field are calculated.
