The Dow Jones industrial average soared more than 300 points in afternoon trading following what many believe to be a bail-out for the financial sector, allowing breathing room forinvestment banks to clear large leveraged-loan deals from their books and easing the ability of corporations to borrow in the short-term debt markets, both of which had basically frozen up in the last few weeks.
