abstract:Listwanite (also sometimes spelled listvenite, listvanite, or listwaenite) is unusual rock type that forms when ultramafic rocks (most commonly mantle peridotites) are completely carbonated. The pyroxene and olivine minerals found in peridotite commonly alter to form carbonate and serpentine minerals.
