Fishery crews from China are fully trained to conform to the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Fishing Vessel Personnel (STCW-F 1995). Moreover, in order to follow the Taiwan regulation to protect crew members personal safety, they are also required, before boarding, to take professional training and obtain the Four minor certificates, including survival at sea, lifeboat maneuvers, fire safety on ships, and first aid at sea.
