Everybody looked at each other. The room was dropping in temperature. And I knew that was a horribly familiar sign. The demon was here. I heard rustling up stairs, scrapes and fast footprints. A woman screamed as she ran down the stairs, ripped and bloody clothing barley clinging to her body. Once she reached the bottom step, something, invisible to our eyes grabbed her feet and made her drop forward on her hands. It dragged her up the stairs. Halfway up, she lost consciousness, from her head hitting the edge of each step. Lacey screamed, Grae tried pulling us into the kitchen, but I stood there staring. He kept pulling my arm, urging me. But I didn't listen. I could tell the woman regained consciousness, she began to scream. And her nails dug into the wooden floors upstairs. The last bit of suffer ended when her bones broke against a wall. Silence. I stared at the stairs, blinking.
