From 1986-1992, Spitzer was an assistant district attorney in Manhattan, rising to become chief of its laborracketeering unit, where he prosecuted organized crime and political corruption cases.
Although he spent eight years in private practice, Spitzer has made his name in public service, first in the Manhattan District Attorney's office under Robert Morgenthau, later becoming head of its LaborRacketeering unit.
