abstract:John Saul (1913-1979) was an Australian actor and director, one of the leading figures in Australian radio of the 1940s and 1950s. He was married to Georgie Sterling and was an early mentor of Rod Taylor.
Other conference goers, many of whom are Gadgetoff regulars, also shone: including Amazon's Jeff Bezos, TED conference founder Richard Saul Wurman, computer engineer Danny Hillis, polymathic inventor Dean Kamen, sly literary agent John Brockman and Creative Good's Mark Hurst.
Examples: Carroll Petrie, Susan Gutfreund (the former Pan Am flight attendant who married Salomon Brothers managing partner John Gutfreund) and Gayfryd Steinberg, who to this day is still ministering to her corporate raider husband, Saul, who suffered a debilitating stroke in 1995.
