abstract:Sir John Alexander Armitt, CBE, FREng (born 2 February 1946, Edmonton) is the Chairman of the Olympic Delivery Authority, the body charged with building the venues, facilities and infrastructure for the 2012 Olympic Games. The appointment commenced on 1 September 2007.
Chief executive JohnArmitt said the union had failed to fully inform its members of the facts and the offers made and called it "a pointless and unnecessary dispute".
The chairman of the ODA JohnArmitt said the velodrome would be a "world-class cycling venue with a record-breaking track for events in 2012 and the legacy of first-class facilities to help create the next generation of Olympic champions".
Network Rail's chief executive, JohnArmitt, says that he and his board had always made it clear that it would take 18 months to show a noticeable difference in performance and three to five years to produce sustainable improvement.
