“Breathe, girl! Breathe!” Jack ordered me, staring at my glassy eyes. I wasn't watching or listening, I was replaying the moments of my life where my mother had blamed me for everything. I snapped as my self control shattered. I took in a shuddering breath and was surprised to hear a sob. I looked at the men, they weren't crying so who was? It took me a few seconds to realise I was the one. Another racked sob broke from my lips and tears began streaming down my cheeks. It was my fault. It always was. I let what my mother had always told me turn to truth. It was because of me that my father left. It was because of me that he had died. It was because of me that my mother was disheartened. It was because of me that my own mother hated me, the same one who had brought me into the world and nourished me.
