abstract:The International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH) is a scientific and educational organisation whose aims are to promote research into and understanding of the proper management and protection of groundwater for the common good throughout the world.
The UNESCO International Hydrological Programme (IHP) together with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the InternationalAssociationofHydrogeologists (IAH) has initiated a new Project on "Groundwater Governance" financed by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
Over three-years, the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the UNESCO International Hydrological Programme (IHP), the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the InternationalAssociationofHydrogeologists (IAH) and the World Bank are working closely with Member States to, though their best practices, jointly understand the complex nexus between science and governance in the management of groundwater resources.
