I was lying on my bed in the tiny apartment my mother and I called home. It was almost midnight but I wasn't tired. Insomnia at its finest. I heard the door of my mothers bedroom open and close followed by my own door opening. Larry stood in my doorway, looking at me. Larry was my mothers boyfriend. Four months ago she brought him home and I had seen him everyday since. I didn't particularly care for him but my mom seemed happy.
