• abstract: The Innenstadt ("inner city") is the central Stadtbezirk (city district) of Braunschweig, Germany. The district, which consists of five formerly independent city precincts (Altewiek, Altstadt, Hagen, Neustadt, and Sack), is surrounded by the river Oker and in area mostly identical with the medieval city of Braunschweig.
