"The premise that high vacancy rates tend to perpetuate low footfall appears to hold true with a decline infootfall of -10.1% in Wales alongside an increase in a vacancy rate of 1.9% from October, " she said.
Ms Moriarty said: "Scotland didn't see as much sunshine as some areas further south towards the end of April, so it's all the more positive to see that footfall is in line with the UK average in spite of the delayed onset of milder weather, " she said.
My only concern here is that with the reduction in customer footfall at stores will the strategy actually be afforded the necessary time to bear fruit?
