Shrugging, ‘I was just thinking.’ In a swift move, I leant away from my locker and began walking away. I could hear Lana's footsteps behind me and soon she was by my side. Her legs weren't as long as mine and to keep up with my pace she almost had to run. I wasn't trying to be rude, I was just being cautious. Getting close to anyone was never my intention in life and speaking to the same one person two days in a row was verging on too close for comfort. However, Lana seemed reluctant to give up on trying to speak with me.
