He left the living room and waited at the bottom of the stairs. It was almost two weeks after the accident and Jen had arrived home two days before. Her surgery, thankfully, had gone without a hitch and now she was being well cared for by friends and family. Color was coming back into her cheeks and her neck and side wounds were healing slowly but surely. Her left arm, broken in several places, was in a cast but she was still able to fit her engagement ring onto her finger. Despite her frowning on Jack proposing while she looked awful in a hospital gown, covered in bruises and bandages, she couldn't be more thrilled and neither could her brother or her friends.
