Marcs winced hearing the screen door slam shut. It wasn't often that his mother threw the fact that Don was his father out like that. He knew she was upset, but that was supposed to be a secret. One, that no one but them knew, and he only found out when he turned thirteen. What a great birthday that was, learning his absent father, wasn't so absent, but still wasn't going to be a part of his life in a any parental way. He hated Don, with every fiber of his being. Not only for being his father, but for hurting his mother.
