abstract:Gush Shalom (Hebrew: גוש שלום, lit. The Peace Bloc [Coalition]) is an Israeli peace activism group founded and led by former Irgun and Knesset Member and journalist, Uri Avnery, in 1993.
Without foreign governmental funding, the likes of Peace Now, Adalah, Ir Amim, GushShalom, B'Tselem and others would be forced to curtail their legal campaigns against the state.
In Israel, counterparts to Code Pink like Uri Avineri's GushShalom acted as human shields to protect Yasser Arafat and his fellow terrorists from the IDF during Operation Defensive Shield in 2002.
Physicians for Human Rights- Israel, Breaking the Silence, Bimkom, Peace Now, GushShalom, Adalah, the Geneva Initiative, the Committee for Peace and Security and so on and so forth all receive massive funding from foreign governments.
