"We do a bit of endurance to get them fitter - marching on the spot, moving round the room in a circle to get the heart rate up a bit, " explained Ms Quaeck.
The thinking is that the later the season starts, the young birds get a chance to grow fitter and stronger and escape the gun and then go on to breed and increase the ravaged numbers.
"We now have to make sure we have a good break and come back stronger, fitter and faster and try to get a stronger squad to make sure that we compete 100% better than we have in what has been a magnificent season, " he concluded.
