abstract:Gernika is Francisco Escudero's second opera, written in 1985. The libretto was written by Escudero himself and based on an idea for a plot by Luis Iriondo.
The said works have been specially created for the occasion, with great respect for the surroundings in which they are found at different sites within the Biosphere Reserve of Urdaibai, such as Laga beach (Ibarrangelu), The Madariaga tower (Busturia), the Andrabide quarry (Gautegiz Arteaga) or the Astra factory (Gernika-Lumo).
