abstract:Gelugor (named after Asam Gelugor, also known as Gu-Lu-Goq (牛汝莪) in Hokkien and Northern Malay) is a town located at the southern part of Georgetown, a midway town between Georgetown and Sungai Dua. It is made up of several residential commercial areas, namely Island Glades, Island Park, Minden Heights, Kampung Kastam (Custom Village), Taman Tun Sardon, Taman Brown (also known as Brown Gardens), Bukit Gambir (sometimes spelt "Gambier"), Bukit Gelugor and Sungai Gelugor (Famed for having the oldest Malay School in Malaysia, Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Gelugor).
